The “Aphotic II” continues the quest for “swimming goggle perfection” with a few small changes to our best-selling model over the last 10 years, the Aphotic. The second generation features the addition of a ratchet on the strap, offering greater ease of adjustment. The silicone strap also has ridges to improve fit and security.

Possibly the most important piece of equipment on race day is your swimming goggles. A piece of equipment that many of us take for granted, but without it, all our preparation and training are wasted. It is time to take goggles seriously and really understand what is needed on race day.

Wouldn’t it be great if most events started in the middle of the day, with the sun high, everyone warmed up, and the light as good as possible? Unfortunately, the duration of events and road closure times mean that a 7 a.m. start is not out of the ordinary and, as we all know, the light 30 minutes after the starting gun is very different, and even more so as the morning progresses.

“Photochromic” clarity helps with visibility and allows you to move around obstacles and other swimmers, even when swimming toward or away from the sun.

These incredible lenses adjust perfectly and take only 160 seconds to go from clear to dark, providing maximum performance on every lap around every buoy.

Special patented photochromic dyes cause the lenses to activate or darken when exposed to ultraviolet rays from sunlight. When UV light decreases, the lenses return to normal. As the light conditions change, the tint level adjusts, offering the right shade at the right time.

Designed to fit the face perfectly, with a combined silicone and TPR density to create a perfect fit and a lightweight feel, even on the most interesting facial profiles. For a great swim, you need a comfortable fit and the ability to see as much as possible, blocking as much light as possible when the sun is high or the glare off the water is ideal.
